  • Contact Knox United Church at (905) 722-3742 to register children 5-12 for their Vacation Bible Camp which runs from July 9 to 13 from 9:00 to noon.
  • The Town of Georgina is hosting a public information centre on Wed. July 11 at the ROC Chalet to get your feedback on the regulation of Short Term Rental Accommodations in the Town.
  • Celebrate the arrival of Portraits of Giving in Georgina on Thurs. July 12 at 4:00 pm at the Link. Georgina honouree is Gail Lenters of Shades of Hope.
  • The 17th Annual Purple Turtle Art Festival will be held at the Briars on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday, July 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • In celebration of Georgina’s 200th Anniversary, the Lake Simcoe Gardeners is hosting a self-guided Georgina Garden Tour on Sun. July 15 between 11:00 am and 3:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased at Petal Pushers Flower and Gift Shop.
  • GTTI—The Training Centre is hosting a Paint Nite on Fri. July 20. Tickets for a step-by-step instruction to create “moonlit fairy” are $45 and can be purchased on-line at http://www.paintnite.com/buy/10055194.
  • The Sutton BIA is hosting its 6th Annual Festival on High on Sat. July 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Live music, the popular duck race, plenty of vendors.
  • If you’ve never been to Egypt to watch the ever popular Great Camel Races, now is your chance. Homecoming weekend begins on Sat. July 21 at noon at the Egypt Community Hall with a BBQ, face painting water games and of course, the Camel Races. On Sun. July 22 at 11:00 a.m. Homecoming Sunday at the Egypt Church will feature a BBQ and vintage vehicle shine.

  • You can get your tickets for the Beaverton and Area House Tour at Maxine’s Fashions prior to the day of the tour on Sunday, July 22. Tour runs from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
  • Have you been holding on to an item that just needs a quick fix like a chair needing a leg repair, a vacuum needing a new cord or a bicycle needing a wheel alignment? Then the Repair Café may be the place for you. York Region and NewMakeIt will host a Repair Café at the Link on Sun. July 22 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
  • The Georgina Chamber of Commerce invites you to the Grand Opening of the new offices at the Link on Thurs. July 26 at 7:00 pm for ribbon cutting, Open House and cake too!
  • Save the Date! The Georgina BBQFest kicks off at the ROC on Sat. July 28. Three tribute bands, beer tent, sidewalk sale and much, much more. $2 entry and all proceeds go to three charities—Jericho Youth Centre, Routes and the Shades of HopeThis looks like a lot of fun!!! While you are at BBQFest stop by the Shine Through the Rain Human Fooseball setup and give it a try.
  • Routes is hosting a Bus Trip to the Gem Theatre to see Mamma Mia for the 1:00 p.m. show. Cost is $3 + admission.
  • Wilfrid Hall Board is hosting “Country Flair” Garden Tour on Sat. July 28 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Register at Hall at 9:00 am on the day for $15
  • Come on out to the 40th Anniversary edition of the Pefferlaw Picnic on Monday, August 6. Fun for everyone and it is all FREE! Lions Antique Car Show, hot air balloon, petting zoo and so much more!
  • The Sutton Fair & Horse Show, Aug 9 to 12, has something for everyone. Midway, petting zoo, horse & livestock competitions, demolition derby & demo cross, truck & tractor pull, horse pull, home craft exhibits, aqua dogs show, see the website www.suttonfair.com for the full schedule.
  • The Teddy Bear Fair will be held on Sat. Aug. 11 at Brooks Farm from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This annual family-friendly event is full of games, activities and more. Proceeds go to charity.
